Kirby Smart updates injury situations for Smael Mondon and AD Mitchell
Georgia hosts Auburn on Saturday in the latest edition of the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry. The Bulldogs have been a little bit banged up in a few areas, specifically at the linebacker and wide receiver spots.
During the win against Missouri, LB Smael Mondon had a minor ankle injury but remained in the game. Kirby Smart on Tuesday updated the status of Mondon, saying that the sophomore and 3rd-leading tackler has been wearing a brace in practice and was “struggling a little bit” due to the injury.
Kirby Smart said starting ILB Smael Mondon is "struggling a little bit" with an ankle injury. He's practicing some wearing a brace.

Wide receiver A.D. Mitchell has been dealing with an ankle injury of his own, but this one is more serious as he hasn’t played since leaving the Samford game on Sept. 10. He was dressed out for the game against Missouri, a good sign, but didn’t see the field. According to Smart, Mitchell’s conditioning has been going well as he seeks a return against Auburn, but he wasn’t sure how involved the wideout would be if he’s involved at all.
Georgia WR AD Mitchell (ankle) hit some good speeds in conditioning Monday, Kirby Smart said. "It looks very promising," based on speed, but he said he didn't know what kind of role he would have Saturday.
