On Sunday, the Los Angeles Rams advanced to the Super Bowl in a game laced with controversy — specifically, an uncalled pass interference penalty late in the fourth quarter that hurt the New Orleans Saints.

After the game, former Georgia RB Todd Gurley, now with the Rams, posted a Photoshopped image of himself exchanging a jersey with a referee, clearly a joking nod to the help the Rams received.

However, not everyone was in on the joke, apparently. On Monday, New York radio host Mike Francesa went off on the referee for exchanging a jersey with Gurley (again, something that never actually happened):

“You should never have another jersey, whether you exchange them with players before the game — which is an outrageous thing to begin with — no way should an official be exchanging a jersey with a player before a game,” he said. “That’s such a bad thing to do, number one. Number two, they have to stay distant from the players.”

Someone should probably let Francesa in on the joke soon, lest he continue his bizarre rant on Tuesday.
