There’s a reason that Mark Richt is pretty much universally liked within the college football community.

In spite of the way that his tenure ended with Georgia and the hurt feelings that may not be too far below the surface at this point, he still took the time to publicly acknowledge the accomplishment of his former players following the Bulldogs’ 24-17 win against Penn State in the TaxSlayer Bowl on Saturday.

Just a reminder: Georgia won 10 games this season in spite of losing star RB Nick Chubb to a serious knee injury halfway through the year, but Richt was still let go.

Richt seems happy with his new gig at Miami, and Georgia fans are certainly excited to see what Kirby Smart can do, so maybe this split really will be an amicable one.
