It was somewhat surprising when Georgia DT Trenton Thompson decided to forego his senior season and declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.

However, he’s now heading to the professional ranks, and he’ll likely be a Day 3 pick, but that doesn’t mean he can’t have a solid career.

NFL.com analyst Chase Goodbread thinks Thompson can be a great value pick later in the draft, saying he never reached his full potential in college:

Of course, there’s no guarantee that he’ll live up to his full potential in the NFL, either, but it’s understandable why a team would want to take a chance on him.

In three years with the Bulldogs, Thompson recorded 127 tackles (15.5 for a loss) and 5.5 sacks.
