Paul Finebaum came to Georgia’s defense after Heather Dinich left the undefeated back-t0-back national champions out of her College Football Playoff top 4 rankings.

The spirited debate occurred during a recent segment on ESPN’s Get Up. Dinich’s ordering is Washington at the top, followed by Florida State, Oklahoma, and Michigan.

Dinich explains why she believes No. 1 Georgia has been overrated so far.

“Could I just tell you why I have Georgia in addition to Brock Bowers being out?” Dinich said. “When you look at their schedule, they only have 1 win against a Power 5 team with a winning record. No wins against ranked teams, and everybody else is a combined 10-24 in the FBS. Paul, tell me why in the world Georgia deserves to be No. 1 right now.”

Finebaum fired back at Dinich for her take and has Georgia at No. 1, then Ohio State, Michigan, and Washington. Finebaum also estimates that Bowers may be back “soon” but should return in the time for the SEC Championship Game.

“Heather, you’re such a hater, I don’t know what happened to you since I last saw you,” Finebaum said. “Georgia doesn’t have any great wins and I agree and we’re not going to re-litigate why Oklahoma went off the schedule. But they are playing better and will see some amazingly good teams coming up.”

The first CFP rankings of the season debuts on Oct. 31 on ESPN.
