The Georgia Bulldogs parted ways with coach Mark Fox after the SEC Tournament, despite the fact that the Dawgs won a couple of games in St. Louis.

Now, they are being linked to every big-name candidate on the market, but one of those big names could soon be on the move to Athens.

According to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports, former Ohio State coach Thad Matta is a serious candidate for the job and may start interviewing for the position as soon as Sunday:

Matta coached the Buckeyes from 2004 to 2017, leading them to two Final Fours, an NIT title, four Big Ten Tournament championships and five Big Ten regular-season championships.

His overall coaching record is an impressive 439-154. The Bulldogs may try to move quickly on making a new hire in order to avoid the scramble that could come after the end of the NCAA Tournament.
