The Georgia Bulldogs are currently without one of their top recruits from the 2017 recruiting class as Deangelo Gibbs is away from the team at this time.

According to Jake Rowe with 247 Sports, the freshman DB is away from the team and is being treated for a medical issue. No clarification was given on what type of issue it is, but Rowe did cite a source saying that the team is hoping to get Gibbs back as soon as possible.

Gibbs was rated the No. 6 player from the state of Georgia for 2017 and has played in six games this season. He has three tackles and a QB hurry to his credit. Rowe indicated that Gibbs hasn’t played in five straight games and did not travel for the Georgia Tech game or SEC Championship.

While he may not have served in a prominent role this season, Gibbs looks to be a talented player that can contribute in the secondary moving forward. Hopefully the Bulldogs are able to get him back with the team quickly.
