When the Georgia Bulldogs landed former 5-star WR Demetris Robertson from Cal, they thought the transfer player would have to sit out the 2018 season.

However, Robertson filed a waiver with the NCAA requesting immediate eligibility, and on Friday, that request was granted.

As you can see in the tweet from The Athletic’s Seth Emerson below, Robertson is now eligible to play this fall:

Obviously, this is a huge boost for OC Jim Chaney and the Dawgs’ offense, as Robertson has the talent to step in and become the No. 1 receiver right away.

Adding the Cal transfer to a unit that already includes Terry Godwin, Riley Ridley, Mecole Hardman and others should strike fear into the hearts of Georgia’s 2018 opponents.

Back in 2016, Robertson had 50 catches for 767 yards and seven touchdown. He played in two games last season before a lower body injury ended his season.
