Mark Richt is leading by a landslide in the early returns of an Atlanta Journal-Constitution referendum on his job status.

Richt had 75 percent support in the first 937 online votes as of 5:42 p.m. Saturday. Voting ends Sunday afternoon.

In the AJC poll, respondents were asked whether Richt should return next season or not.

The Georgia coach has been heavily criticized by former Georgia players, media and fans as the Bulldogs, the preseason favorites to win the SEC East, struggled throughout the season on offense without a steady quarterback.

The Bulldogs did win their last four games in unspectacular fashion and finished second behind Florida in the division race.

Richt is 145-51 in 15 seasons at Georgia. The Bulldogs beat Georgia Tech 13-7 on Saturday to improve to 9-3 this season entering a bowl appearance.
