For the third consecutive season, Georgia, a preseason favorite, isn’t going to win an SEC East title.

A comfortable preseason favorite in the division, the Bulldogs once again will finish behind an underdog. Florida crushed Georgia on Saturday, winning 27-3. The final scoreboard didn’t represent the canyon between the teams.

The Bulldogs look inept on offense. The defense can’t tackle and isn’t applying much pressure. Worse, UGA has lost three of four games — and scored just nine points in a win against Missouri. With Kentucky, Auburn and Georgia Tech remaining, it’s very possible this team could finish 8-4 or worse — this after entering the season as a team in the conversation for a College Football Playoff berth.

Georgia coach Mark Richt is getting blistered on social media as a result, and could find his job status in flux depending on how the athletic administration perceives him.

Has the narrative shifted to “UGA can’t do better” to “it’s time for a change?”
