Sony Michel’s rushing numbers compare favorably to Heisman frontrunner

Sony Michel is not typically the first Georgia running back to start the game, or at the top of the depth chart, but his numbers are beginning to be as impressive as any player in the country.
After a big performance in the 42-7 win over Florida on Saturday when Michel had six carries for 137 yards, Michel upped his average to 10.4 yards per carry in SEC play. Overall, Michel has 629 rushing yards on 74 carries for eight touchdowns.
Against Power 5 defenses, Michel compares favorably with Penn State running back and Heisman Trophy frontrunner Saquon Barkley. Especially when the number of carries is listed and Michel has about half the carries and only 40 fewer yards.
So why does Michel come off the bench for No. 2 Georgia?
Teammate Nick Chubb leads the SEC in rushing with 765 yards and nine touchdowns.
Ridiculous stat of the day: Sony Michel is averaging 10.4 yards per carry in SEC play. Not bad for being Georgia's "change of pace" back.
