Georgia considered national championship favorite by Vegas sportsbook

The Georgia Bulldogs found themselves on the outside looking in Tuesday night when the first-ever College Football Playoff rankings were released as the No. 11 team. However, according to one Las Vegas sportsbook, UGA isn’t just a contender for the national championship, they’re the clear favorite.
GC Technology, a Vegas sportsbook that describes itself as the “leading innovator in mobile sports gambling,” gives Georgia 5/1 odds of taking home the national title, the best odds of any team in college football.

There are currently four SEC teams ahead of UGA in the CFP rankings — Mississippi State, Auburn, Ole Miss and Alabama — and all four of them are in the SEC West. In a likely scenario, however, those four SEC West teams will likely beat each other up over the remaining weeks of the season and because Georgia’s last four games contain just one ranked team, the Bulldogs’ path to Atlanta is much easier.
If UGA does make it to the SEC Championship, they’ll have Todd Gurley back in the mix, making them a even more dangerous opponent come early December.
Drew Laing will be providing analysis and insight on Florida, Georgia, Missouri and South Carolina.
