What Kirby Smart said after Georgia's blowout win over Ball State
Kirby Smart and Georgia are now 2-0 in the 2023 football season after a 45-3 win over Ball State at Sanford Stadium on Saturday.
Carson Beck was 23-of-30 for 283 yards, throwing 2 touchdowns and an interception. He connected with 12 different receivers, with Arian Smith and Oscar Delp each with a game-high 50 yards on 2 catches. Cash Jones and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint both had touchdown catches.
The key to this one was a big 2nd quarter, one that saw the Bulldogs come away with 3 interceptions of Ball State quarterback Kadin Semonza. The Cardinals were held to just 4-of-15 on 3rd downs and managed just 147 yards on 37 pass attempts.
Georgia has now scored 93 points in its 1st 2 games. It now turns its attention to a Week 3 contest against South Carolina, its 1st SEC game of the season.
Here’s what Smart had to say during his postgame press conference, including updates on Javon Bullard and coaching staff member Jarvis Jones:
