Georgia offensive lineman Xavier Truss announced that he would be returning to Athens for his sixth-season of college football in 2024 on Friday.

Rated as a 4-star recruit out of West Warwick, R.I., Truss signed with the Bulldogs prior to the 2019 season. He appeared in three games as a true freshman during a redshirt campaign, and he appeared in six games during the COVID-shortened 2020 campaign, including a start against Cincinnati in the Peach Bowl.

Truss served as a reserve lineman during the 2021 season and appeared in all 15 games, but he broke through as a starter in 2022, lining up at left guard in 14 of the team’s 15 games. He was a second team All-SEC Selection by the coaches in 2023 after starting in 12 games.

Truss joins All-American right guard Tate Ratledge in announcing that he would return to play for Georgia on Friday. The duo figures to spearhead an experienced offensive line that will be protecting returning quarterback Carson Beck and blocking for Florida transfer running back Trevor Etienne.
