It isn’t often you see a staff member leave an SEC program for a G5 school, unless the move comes with a major promotion, but that is what has happened in Lexington this week as EK Franks is leaving Kentucky for Troy.

Franks joined Mark Stoops program in August, suggesting that the fit in Lexington may not have been right considering his short stay in Lexington. Franks is expected to be named assistant athletic director at Troy according to Kentucky Sports Radio.

His role at Kentucky was defined as such on the team website: “Manages all aspects of recruiting operations, including directing the recruiting staff, and coordinating on-campus recruiting visits.”

Franks came to Lexington after briefly working for Dan Mullen at Florida. He also has experience working at Arkansas.
