Former Kentucky G Hamidou Diallo was chosen by the Brooklyn Nets with the No. 45 overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, but he won’t get a chance to play for the team that drafted him.

That’s because Diallo is heading west, where he’ll team up with Russell Westbrook and Paul George on the Oklahoma City Thunder.

On Friday night, the Thunder announced they had acquired Diallo for a 2019 second-round pick and cash considerations, per a release:

The Thunder have a lot of money tied up in Westbrook, Georgia and Carmelo Anthony, so the roster is thin beyond that. Diallo could certainly earn some playing time right away.

Diallo averaged 10 points and 3.6 rebounds while starting all 37 games for the Wildcats last season. His game should translate to the NBA, so he’ll be fun to watch.
