Former Kentucky quarterback Beau Allen will be returning to Kentucky after a pair of seasons away from the program.

Allen first transferred to Tarleton State for the 2022 season, putting up strong numbers at the FCS level. He was named the WAC Newcomer of the Year after completing 193-of-340 passes for 2,836 yards, 23 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.

Allen then decided to transfer back to the FBS ranks, choosing Georgia Southern to play this season. However, Allen’s 2-time transfer waiver was denied and Allen was forced to sit out the season.

Now, following the departure of Devin Leary, Allen is transferring back to Kentucky to compete for a starting job with Georgia transfer Brock Vandagriff.

Here’s his social media post announcing the news.

Allen attempted just 19 passes at Kentucky in 2020 and 2021 during his first stint with the program. He finished 11-of-19 for 132 yards, no touchdowns and no interceptions.

Allen was a mid-level recruit for the Wildcats in the Class of 2020, considered to be the No. 18 pro style QB in the country at the time.
