Heading into his second season in the NFL, former Kentucky standout Benny Snell is drawing praise from his head coach.

“I think that Benny Snell has had an awesome camp as a second-year runner and kind of has shown signs of preparedness in that way”, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said recently while speaking to Pat Kirwan and Jim Miller on SiriusXM Radio, according to Steelers Depot.

Snell is coming off of a 180-carry rookie season where he recorded 426 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. , appearing 13 games including 2 starts. The Steelers Depot article describes Snell as taking a more “business-like” approach in Year 2 after hyping up the Steelers media to “Benny Snell Football” ahead of his rookie campaign.

Snell, a fourth-round pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is still looking at being Pittsburgh’s No. 2 running back with the return of RB1 James Conner. We’ll see if Snell’s “awesome” 2020 camp helps him step into a larger role in Tomlin’s offense.
