Back in January, WR Jeff Badet announced his intentions to transfer from Kentucky.

Recently, he’s made it clear he’d like to attend the University of Oklahoma, but it wasn’t official until Thursday, according to an Associated Press report.

Badet, a graduate transfer, will be eligible to play immediately, which means he’ll be able to catch passes from Heisman Trophy finalist Baker Mayfield this fall.

Interestingly, Oklahoma is coached by Bob Stoops, the brother of Kentucky coach Mark Stoops, so it’s likely that the decision to leave Kentucky for the Sooners was amicable.

Badet caught 31 passes for 670 yards and four touchdowns in 2016. Mayfield, a rising senior, threw for 3,965 yards and 40 touchdowns last year.

Badet will be counted on to help replace star WR Dede Westbrook, himself a Heisman Trophy finalist in 2016.

If the Sooners live up to expectations, Badet could find himself playing in a big-time bowl game by the end of the year.
