The Kentucky Wildcats have had 2 first-round picks in the 2020 NBA Draft — Tyrese Maxey and Immanuel Quickley.
Quickley was a guy who returned to Kentucky this past year for his sophomore season and made a huge jump, becoming an SEC co-Player of the Year.
After he was chosen by the Oklahoma City Thunder with the No. 25 overall pick (and subsequently sent to the New York Knicks), Quickley shared his appreciation for Kentucky coach John Calipari:
“They said I couldn’t do it Coach!!!” @KentuckyMBB They didn’t understand my why! Love you #BuiltDifferent #GodisGood @UKCoachCalipari pic.twitter.com/PSCwf8BdQn

Quickley was a bit of a surprise as a Round 1 pick, but he rose up draft boards quickly (no pun intended) this past week.
Now, he’ll try to help the Knicks rebuild.
