Under Mark Stoops’ leadership, Kentucky has a history of finding gems on the recruiting trail and the Wildcats may have found a new one in Alabama native Kahlil Saunders.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound Grissom High School product announced his commitment to Kentucky on Friday.

“First off I want to thank God for having the opportunity to play football and further my education at the next level. I would like to thank The Grissom Football Staff for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to play the game I love for the last three years. I want to thank all my friends and family that stuck with me along the way continuing to motivate me through the struggles and sacrifices I would also like to thank my teachers and guidance counselor for there guidance and help through my high school career. With that being said, I am proud to announce my commitment to the University of Kentucky!”

Saunders does not currently have a recruiting ranking but has landed scholarship offers from Virginia Tech and Memphis this spring.
