Kentucky DB to retire from football amid injury-filled career
Kentucky defensive back Taj Dodson has retired from the game of football amid a career full of injuries. The former Wildcat defensive back did not appear on updated 2023 roster lists and a school spokesperson confirmed the news Wednesday.
Dodson appeared in 19 games across his 4 years in Lexington and is a Kentucky graduate, having went through senior day festivities last fall.

The former 3-star prospect spent most of his time as a reserve CB, totaling 9 tackles and a pass deflection across his career.
Dodson had a huge start to his career out of high school, playing well against Florida before being preserved for a redshirt season. He missed 6 games due to injury in 2020 and suffered injury problems during the offseason before this past year. He appeared in 9 games for Kentucky in 2022.
Really liked this kid. (Still do.) On those few occasions when I got to see him play he often stood out by making a good play or two. He could have been one of our better veteran defensive backs if he could have stayed healthy. Hate that he had to hang it up.
Thank you Taj for all your hard work! I wish you only the best in the future. You will always be part of the BBN Family.
