Kentucky received some positive news recently about one of its defensive linemen it’s missed since this summer.

Coach Mark Stoops announced on Monday that DL Josh Paschal, who was slated to be a starter in the spring, was cleared to do light running following a malignant melanoma diagnosis on the bottom of his foot.

“He’s doing very, very good,” Stoops said, according to the Lexington Herald-Leader. “We’re very encouraged by Josh, his recovery and what he’s doing. So maybe I’ll have a nice smile on my face and good update here in the next couple of weeks.”

Stoops added that the foot is healing after a procedure was performed on the area.

Kentucky earlier this season wore helmet stickers to honor Paschal and offensive line coach John Schlarman, who are both fighting cancer.
