Kentucky is off to a very rough 0-2 start to its 2016 season, squandering a 25-point lead against Southern Miss and getting blown out 45-7 against Florida.

In those two losses, there was a stretch in which UK allowed 79 unanswered points. Florida notched a 24-0 lead in the first half, and judging by Wildcats LB Jordan Jones’ postgame comments, that was enough for some of his teammates to give up on the game.

“Sometimes, when we’re down, a lot of people on our team just tend to quit and think it’s over,” Jones said. “I don’t think it’s over until it’s actually over. I think as a whole team, we need to work on fighting back.”

With nine tackles in the game, Jones’ performance was one of few bright spots for the Wildcats. His quote, however, reflects poorly on coach Mark Stoops. If the troops don’t begin to show more fight, one can expect Stoops’ seat to start heating up at a rapid pace.
