No. 7 Kentucky dropped its first game of the season Saturday.

The Wildcats lost at No. 14 Ole Miss, 22-19.

It’s a loss that is certain to linger for Kentucky, which had every opportunity to win the game.

Mistakes, however, many of which came down the stretch, doomed the Wildcats’ chances.

Most notably, Kentucky had what would have been a go-ahead touchdown called back by penalty in the final 2 minutes of the game.

And senior quarterback Will Levis fumbled twice in the final 3 minutes. Both turnovers came when the Wildcats were in range for what have been a game-tying field goal.

Although, converting a tying field goal on this day would have been no sure thing for Kentucky, which had earlier in the game missed a FG attempt while also failing to convert 2 PAT tries.

Additionally, Wildcats coach Mark Stoops declined a penalty that allowed Ole Miss to kick a 53-yard field goal in the 2nd quarter, which proved to be the final winning margin.

Add it all up and Kentucky found a way to lose a game it easily could have won, which did not go unnoticed on social media:
