Kentucky is donning its chrome helmets for its game against Vanderbilt on Saturday.

The popular “chrome domes” feature the familiar interlocking “UK” logo in Wildcat blue, along with blue facemasks. The jersey will be blue with white numbers, with the pants set to be blue with white trim and featuring the Wildcats’ secondary logo. Blue cleats and blue gloves complete the uniform combination.

The Wildcats haven’t played since Oct. 31, a 14-3 loss to Georgia. They hope that they can get back on the winning side against a Commodores team that is currently 0-5 and has lost 4 straight in a series that has dated back to 1896. All-time, Kentucky leads 46-42-4 in past matchups between the 2 teams.

The big story, of course, is the death of Wildcats assistant John Schlarman, who passed away on Thursday.

Kentucky and Vanderbilt will kick off on Saturday at noon ET from Kroger Field in Lexington. It will be televised on the SEC Network.
