Kentucky’s blowout win over Florida overshadowed by injury to TyTy Washington

Kentucky rolled to its 6th straight win Saturday, blowing out Florida 78-57 after a huge second-half performance. Unfortunately, the status of TyTy Washington overshadows what was a strong afternoon for the Wildcats.
During the second half of action, Washington collided with Florida’s Brandon McKissic while going for a loose ball. Washington appeared to be in significant pain and left directly for the locker room. He was ruled out for the game with a lower leg injury.
In the win, it was Oscar Tshiebwe who provided another incredible outing for Kentucky. Tshiebwe posted a dynamic double-double and led all players with a game-high 27 points and 19 rebounds. 10 of Tshiebwe’s rebounds came on the offensive glass.
He becomes the first SEC player in the past 25 seasons with 5 games of 20+ points and 15+ rebounds in a single season:

For Florida, Colin Castleton led the way with 18 points and 7 rebounds. As a team, the Gators shot 5-for-22 (22.7%) from 3-point range.
Kentucky continues to play strong heading down the stretch of the season. But for now, the biggest question will be the health of Washington heading into next week.
