Mark Stoops had some good news on Thursday regarding the injury status of defensive back Andru Phillips.

After suffering an injury in the game against Mississippi State, Phillips didn’t play in Kentucky’s game against Alabama. However, he’s participated in practice leading into Saturday’s visit to South Carolina and “should be available” against the Gamecocks, according to Rivals.com’s Jeff Drummond. Phillips has played in 9 games for the Wildcats this season, recording 36 tackles and a pair of passes defensed from his cornerback spot.

Kentucky is looking to get back in the win column after a 49-21 loss to Alabama at Kroger Field, its 8th straight loss in the series. On Saturday, it will try to avenge last season’s 24-14 loss to South Carolina in Lexington in the 2 teams’ SEC finale. The Gamecocks, meanwhile, would see a losing season clinched and elimination from bowl contention with a loss to the Wildcats.

Kickoff from Williams-Brice Stadium is set for 7:30 p.m. ET and will be televised on the SEC Network.
