On Thursday night, the former Kentucky standout was selected by league coaches as a reserve guard on the Eastern Conference All-Star team. It’s the first All-Star selection for Maxey, who is enjoying a breakout campaign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Maxey is one of seven former Kentucky Wildcats on the All-Star rosters between the two teams. He’ll be joined in Indianapolis by Bam Adebayo and Julius Randle on the East team. Devin Booker, Anthony Davis, and Karl Anthony-Towns are reserves on the West side. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is an All-Star starter for the West team.

He scored a career-best 50 points against Indiana on Nov. 12. Maxey has scored at least 30 points 12 times in 42 games so far. He has cleared 20 points in 34 of his 42 appearances.

Gilgeous-Alexander will make his second All-Star appearance. Adebayo and Randle will be making their third. Towns and Booker will each be making their fourth. Davis will make his ninth.

This year’s All-Star Game is set to take place on Sunday, Feb. 18 (8 p.m. ET, TNT), at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana.
