2018 OL out of Mississippi announces commitment to LSU
LSU head coach Ed Orgeron is widely known as a fantastic recruiter.
When it comes to the fiery personality, there isn’t any stone unturned. He’ll go far and wide to get as much talent to Baton Rouge.
On Saturday, Orgeron didn’t have to go too far — as 2018 OT/C prospect Cole Smith committed to LSU. A native of Pontotoc, Miss., Smith pledged over offers from Oregon, Marshall, Arkansas State, Troy, and Southern Miss:
Extremely Honored and blessed to announce I've been offered and I've commited to Louisiana State University!! pic.twitter.com/zEskhmzrfU

While Smith is currently an unranked prospect, this will likely change with his commitment to Orgeron and the Tigers.
His upside looks to be rather solid. Smith’s lean frame should allow for himself to put on both mass and strength in the upcoming years. Dually, he appears to have nimble feet and good lateral quickness. It initially appears as if Smith will come in as a center.
Smith became LSU’s tenth public commitment in the 2018 recruiting cycle.
