Colin Simmons, 5-star LSU Edge target, reveals commitment date

Colin Simmons is one of the best players in the Class of 2024 cycle. The 5-star Edge from Duncanville, Texas announced Wednesday that he will commit on August 10.
It’s thought to be a 2-horse race for Simmons between LSU and Texas, though Miami cracked his top 3 as well. The Tigers hold a crystal ball for Simmons via 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. However, the Longhorns have been able to get Simmons to Austin for an official visit recently.
Simmons is the Dallas area’s No. 1 recruit, ranked as the No. 8 overall prospect in the country and the No. 1 overall Edge and player out of the state of Texas. That’s saying a lot.
His athleticism is what really puts him over the top. His speed off the edge earned him 22.5 sacks last season, a Duncanville HS record.
