Decamerion Richardson, Mississippi State transfer DB, visiting SEC program
Decamerion Richardson could be staying in the SEC. The Mississippi State transfer cornerback from Louisiana is reportedly visiting LSU on Saturday.
Richardson’s visit to LSU follows a recent trip to Oregon. Programs are holding their last big recruiting weekends of the year before the Early Signing Period begins Wednesday.
LSU has already landed one Mississippi State transfer in wide receiver Zavion Thomas. The Tigers hope that Richardson is looking to join a familiar face in Baton Rouge.
Richardson is entering his last full season of eligibility. He played in 45 games over the past 4 seasons with the Bulldogs, making 26 starts.
Over the past 2 seasons, Richardson has steadily produced as a starting cornerback. He posted 85 total tackles in 13 games during the 2022 season and 79 in 12 contests this past season. Seven of Richardson’s 10 career pass breakups came in the 2023 campaign.
A former Bossier standout, Richardson picked up scholarships from 8 programs, including Mississippi State, South Carolina and Tennessee during his recruitment. He was a 3-star high school prospect, but now considered a 4-star transfer by 247Sports.
