One day after Dylan Crews picked up his first-career hit, the former LSU star has left the yard.

Crews blasted the first home run of his Major League career on Wednesday night against Yankees starting pitcher Carlos Rodon. Crews, who is hitting in the leadoff spot tonight, gave the Nats a 1-0 lead with his first homer.

The ball left Crews’ bat at 105.4 miles per hour and traveled approximately 399 feet before finding the New York bullpen.

Here’s video of Crews’ first homer:

Crews made his MLB debut earlier this week, becoming the 4th 1st-round pick from the 2023 MLB Draft to do so. Nolan Schanuel, Wyatt Langford and Paul Skenes have also been in the Major Leagues this season. Former Wake Forest starter Rhett Lowder also got the call this week and is expected to make his MLB debut for the Cincinnati Reds in the coming days.

Crews is a key part of an exciting trio of young talent with the Washington Nationals. CJ Abrams and James Wood — both acquired from San Diego in the Juan Soto trade — are the other young stars who figure to be at the top of this Nats’ lineup alongside Crews for years to come.

The Nationals are scheduled to travel to Pittsburgh for a 4-game series in early September, making it possible that former LSU teammates Crews and Skenes could soon face off in the major leagues.
