There’s been talk of moving a defensive lineman to the other side of the ball in Baton Rouge this week with Ed Ingram’s status for the Missouri game up in the air.

This talk was started by the head man himself as Ed Orgeron suggested that starting defensive lineman Joseph Evans, who has experience playing offensive line, could be moved this week in Baton Rouge.

“(Evans) will probably be starting at guard this week. Ed Ingram may be questionable this week,” Orgeron said on Monday. “He’ll probably be starting at guard. He’s one of those guys that can play both ways. He comes out of his hips. He’s very fluid. He’s very smart. I haven’t seen Joe have a bad day.”

Will that actually happen?

It appears the answer is no.

During Orgeron’s most recent appearance on Baton Rouge-based ESPN 104.5 FM show “Off The Bench,” the LSU coach was asked about this comment.

“Yeah, we are going to keep him (on defense) but Ed Ingram may be out this week, we could definitely use (Evans) on the other side of the ball, but we are not going to do that,” Orgeron said on Tuesday. “Right now, Charles Turner is going to have to step up. I think he’ll do a great job for us.”

Turner is a redshirt freshman that served in a reserve role for the Tigers last season. He appeared in three games last season and a total of 36 snaps.
