Ed Orgeron gives his team extra incentive to beat Alabama for the first time since 2011
There’s nothing more the folks in Baton Rouge want than a win over Alabama — something that has not been accomplished since 2011.
While the fate of Ed Orgeron’s career at LSU will likely rest on his ability to beat the Crimson Tide in the years to come, the leader of the Tiger program offered up his team a little extra incentive to beat Nick Saban’s program this fall.
During his Wednesday speaking engagement at the Baton Rouge Rotary Club, which takes place annually leading up to the season, Orgeron was asked if he had ever done the pregame Haka dance made famous last fall in Baton Rouge by defensive lineman Breiden Fehoko.
Coach O may not be willing to break down and do the dance up until this point, but the LSU coach promises to break it out if the Tigers take down Alabama, according to Glenn Guilbeau of the USA TODAY Sports network in Louisiana:
O was asked if he had ever done the Polynesian Haka dance that DT Breiden Fehoko – of Polynesian descent – does often. "I tell you what, if we beat the team we need to beat (Bama), I'm going to do it in the locker room," he said.
