Ed Orgeron may not be returning as LSU’s head coach in 2022, but he’s going to try to lead the Tigers to a strong finish to the season. And after notching a big win over Florida last week, they’ll be looking to keep that momentum going at Ole Miss on Saturday.

However, the Rebels are a challenging opponent, especially because of their high-powered offense fueled by quarterback Matt Corral. Orgeron knows that his coaching counterpart, Lane Kiffin, is capable of getting the most out of that unit, too.

So, how will Orgeron get LSU’s defense to try to limit that offensive attack? The Tigers head coach shared his key to success during this week’s “Last Word with Coach O” with LSU team reporter Emily Dixon.

“We’ve got to take care of the box,” Orgeron said. “We can’t let them run the ball inside. He’s done a lot of inside plays, his backs run very hard and his quarterback has an outstanding arm.”

Here’s everything Orgeron had to say while previewing the matchup:

LSU has won each of its past 5 meetings with Ole Miss and 9 of the past 11. But this year, Ole Miss is the favorite to win as it enters the matchup in Oxford as the No. 12 team in the country.

The Tigers and Rebels will kick off on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET on CBS.
