Former LSU WR Brian Thomas Jr. catches first TD of NFL career
Former LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. caught the first touchdown of his NFL career on Sunday during the contest against the Miami Dolphins.
Thomas, originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars with the No. 23 overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft, reeled in a pass on third-and-11 from quarterback Trevor Lawrence to give the Jags a 14-0 lead with roughly 7 minutes remaining in the second quarter.
This is a redeeming play for the Jaguars, considering how shaky of a start they got off to in the first drive of the game. To this point, Thomas is the team’s second-leading receiver in the contest, totaling 4 receptions for 47 yards with 1 score. He’s caught every pass he’s been targeted on.

How Thomas continue to factor into the offense as a rookie will be something to keep an eye on in this contest and those remaining down the schedule.
Thomas finished out his LSU career with 127 catches for 1,897 yards with 24 touchdowns over 38 games played in at LSU.
The Jaguars currently lead the Dolphins, 17-7 at the end of the first half.
