The goal of National Signing Day was simple for LSU, load up on linebackers to join elite commit Jacob Phillips.
“We feel by the end of the day we’ll have three or four of the best linebackers in the country,” head coach Ed Orgeron said during ESPN’s coverage of signing day. So far, so good, as the Tigers have added Georgia linebacker Tyler Taylor.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Georgia native is rated as a four-star prospect, the No. 11 inside linebacker recruit in the nation and the Peach State’s No. 25 overall recruit, according to 247Sports. Taylor chose LSU over offers from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Penn State, among others.
