Hunter Dean, a native of Mandeville, Louisiana, is returning to his roots.

The George Washington transfer announced that he’s committed to LSU.

Last season, Dean appeared in 30 games, and started 26. He posted career highs in several categories, including 8.7 points, 6.1 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. He shot 64.1% from the floor, the fourth-best single season field goal percentage in GW history.

He was at GW the last 3 seasons, but previously played at Southern Miss where he appeared in 11 games.

In high school, Dean was a star at Lakeshore High School, and averaged 18.4 points, 12.5 rebounds and 3.1 blocks per game as a senior.

LSU’s roster is beginning to come into focus, as Dean joins a transfer class of 5 players. Those 5 will pair with 5 expected returnees in Trae Hannibal, Mwani Wilkinson, Jalen Reed, Tyrell Ward and Derek Fountain.
