Former LSU CB Jalen Collins endures foot surgery
Less than two months before the NFL draft, one of the best cornerback prospects is recovering from foot surgery.
Jalen Collins (LSU- CB) had his foot operated on this past Thursday by Dr. Bob Anderson in North Carolina. Should be ready for mini camp

LSU cornerback Jalen Collins performed well at the NFL Combine. The NFL Network’s Mike Mayock ranks him as the No. 2 corner in the upcoming draft. He’s a potential first-round pick.
At 6-foot-1 and 203 pounds, Collins ran a 4.48-second 40-yard dash in Indianapolis. That rare blend of size and speed makes him intriguing to NFL teams.
Since he’ll miss LSU’s pro day on March 27, NFL teams will be asking a ton of questions of Collins and his doctor about the foot. According to Gil Brandt (see above), Collins should be ready to practice during mini camp in May.
It’s never good for valuable prospects to face health questions just weeks before the draft, but if the report is accurate, after some due diligence, it sounds like NFL teams shouldn’t have many concerns with Collins’ health for 2015.
Collins is trying to become the fifth LSU defensive back to get drafted in the first round since 2007. The others are LaRon Landry, Patrick Peterson, Morris Claiborne and Eric Reid.
