Jayden Daniels received an impressive national honor on Thursday. One of many, past and future, we’re sure.
The star LSU quarterback was named the AP Player of the Year for a simply outstanding 2023 season. Daniels finished first in the voting ahead of Michael Penix, Bo Nix, Marvin Harrison Jr and Ollie Gordon.
Daniels, who originally transferred from Arizona State, had a good 2022 season before going nuclear in 2023. He was impressive through the air as he was on the ground, throwing for 3,812 yards with 40 touchdowns and 4 interceptions while rushing for 1,134 yards and 10 touchdowns.

Daniels is the frontrunner to win the Heisman Trophy in 2 days, facing Bo Nix, Michael Penix and Marvin Harrison Jr. Nix, who was neck-and-neck with Daniels, lost to Washington in the Pac-12 championship game.
