Leonard Fournette asked about picking LSU over Alabama, and his answer will make LSU fans happy
Coming out of high school, Leonard Fournette could have chosen just about any college in the country to attend. Of course, the Louisiana running back ultimately decided to stay home and play for his in-state Tigers over the option of leaving the state and playing for Nick Saban and Alabama.
Considering Fournette never beat the Tide and struggled against the Alabama defenses focused on limiting him — he never rushed for over 79 yards in his three attempts, it would be understandable if he had any second thoughts regarding his college decision. With his LSU career behind him and his NFL career soon to officially begin, Fournette looks back fondly on his time in Baton Rouge without regret.
Missed this y'day. Fournette asked about picking #LSU over #Bama during draft availability yesterday. pic.twitter.com/Bi0tEdNh58

It’s statements like these that continue to cement Fournette’s legacy as one of the biggest fan favorites in recent LSU history. No matter where he lands at the next level, don’t be surprised when his NFL team sees a drastic spike in jersey sales from the state of Louisiana.
Leonard, still feeling that earhole shot Reuben put on you on that kickoff return in Baton Rouge 3 years ago? Lol
“Special bond”…what a crock.
Seeing a team under-achieve for all 3 of your seasons (LSU has finished lower in the final polls than the started in every season since 2012) doesn’t mean there is some sort of mystical bond (that could not have been found on far superior and more accomplished teams in Tuscaloosa). You and Jamal Adams said you chose LSU together because you wanted to win rings. All the rings are worn by the guys in Crimson. You should have known better.
What the hell do you expect him to say? No self-respecting human would ever say they wish they had gone somewhere else for school. Get your head outta your rear end or keep proving you either truly got an education from ‘Bama (or are commenting during your shift break at Walmart)- though I guess the two aren’t mutually exclusive by any means.
Yes, because UGA is the Harvard of the south, right? This is a website about S.E.C. football, not academics. I know you probably find it hard to believe that UGA has a football team considering it has done nothing since 1980 and is Vandy’s baby back beeyotch but it’s true.
Glad you’re yet another bama fan who 1) didn’t go to school there, 2) is inbred, or 3) is both. (#3 is the most likely btw!
UGA 93…. You show up and insult people so what kind of reply did you expect. You’re no better than the Bama poster. Atleast LSU and Bama is included in the article. It has nothing to do with UGA yet you’re here throwing insults…..
And go look at your posts? Every thing you post is negative so it’s nice to meet you kettle! Originally responded to a Bama who is butthurt Fournette didn’t put down LSU, which no player in their right mind would do- while absolutely no way at all including UGA in my comment; but hey if you’re not allowed to comment on other teams stories at least I won’t have to see you comment on anything about UGA!
So you take a shot at Bama because you got upset at the comment made by someone on a message board that had absolutely nothing to do with UGA….. You responded to a butthurt fan and tried to put down a University because you got butthurt…. good job…..
All those periods make you appear even more slow than I initially thought. Yet again you bring up the point as if fans of other teams can’t comment on articles- cute, but quite idiotic. I’m glad you think I’m butthurt over LSU, you’re wrong, but hey that seems to be the norm for you. I put down a fan who thinks a 21-22 year old should not have supporedt/defended his choice to attend LSU; If you think that is wrong then make a real point as to why- your “white knight” tactics defending someone who cheers for the same school is comical. I will gladly put down a whole University that barely cracks the top 50 in U.S. public universities, especially when their 25th percentile ACT score is a mere 1.2 points about the NATIONAL AVERAGE. Yeah, I’ll put down a University for that.
You miss spelled Clemson.
Quit being a pansy. Would you expect him to say something negative? Bama gets beat by Clemson and their fans ignore that fact by talking trash to the rest of the SEC. Typical
My goodness it must suck to be butt hurt over a kids comments that you shut down two years in a row .
It must suck to be an Ole Miss fan. Badly.
Three actually. It does appear that there are some very thin skinned Bama fans here. Some people really need to learn to appreciate what they have, even if it is only a bandwagon.
Barner must only be able to get satisfaction through Alabama football. Guess that’s what happens when you work a pathetic $35k/year job and had to marry your cousin. Still no reason for him to be such a douche with every comment he posts. But alas, inbreds will be inbreds.
UGA 93 Look at your posts…. I think your last posts might apply to you as well…
I’ll quote one of your most recent posts: ” I get it. You’re a dumba$$ and maybe even a little slow.” Yep, I’ll look at my posts while you look at yours :) Thanks for digging back and stalking me tho; it’s quite flattering!
It’s starting to suck being an ole miss fan but the fall for bama will be epic when Satan leaves.
Whenever Saban does leave, at least we’ll still be better than the SEC bottomfeeders that are in the state of Mississippi.
I don’t see that unless probation is involved, and I don’t see that as long as Saban is there. Keep dreaming.
There are lot’s of places that are special, if you like the people there. I get what he’s saying he’s LSU proud and good for him, but then when you talk about rings, championships, that tells me more about what he isn’t than what he is. I cheer for all the SEC guys in the NFL, cheer for all the SEC teams in bowl games (even Rocky Top and Auburn, but as a Bama fan it seems a bit hollow to me to act like championships don’t matter. I bet next time LSU wins one (and they will one day) that the first thing Fournette will do is buy a championship shirt.
Still feeling that gut punch Clemson gave y’all?
1. He’s from Louisiana and went to his home college, so idk why people are upset
2. Deep down maybe he wishes he did go to Bama, probably would’ve gotten a heisman and multiple championships To go with it, but he didn’t you can’t rewrite history
3. Idk why Bama people are so upset. We gave the best RB in the draft less than 150 yards in 3 games. Just don’t say anything and let the dominance speak for itself
4. People insulting Bama, I get it you want your team to be as good as ours, but we aren’t going anywhere anytime soon
5. I’d be surprised if we didn’t sweep the SEC again this year
I think the fball gods knew that having Henry and Fournette on the same team would’ve been more awesomeness than I could handle. Still, there’s a part of me that’s always gonna wish I could’ve seen that tandem. I totally get it though. Home is home, especially to a southerner. Fball helped heal our people after the tornadoes and I’d imagine that hope in Fournette probably did the same thing for Louisiana after The Flood. If I were a guy, I bet it couldn’t get much better than to receive an offer from the team I grew up loving so I can’t blame Fournette for living out his dream in HIS state. Plus, with him being a young father, it’s commendable that he chose to stick around and be a real dad to his too stinkin’ cute lil girl and new baby boy. I may have a tiny twinge of regret, but LF shouldn’t. I wish him and his family nothing but the absolute best moving forward.
