Lincoln Riley comments on rumors connecting him to LSU opening
Lincoln Riley has built a perennial Playoff contender at Oklahoma. Yet, his name continues to come up in coaching rumors.
On Tuesday, ESPN CFB insider Tom Luginbill said he wouldn’t be surprised if Riley ended up taking over at LSU.
Shortly thereafter, Riley was asked about those rumors. He reiterated that his stance hasn’t changed on being the head coach at Oklahoma:
Lincoln Riley on the LSU rumors: “I coach at the University of Oklahoma. You know how I feel about this place and this program. We’ve all been down this road many times before. You guys know where I stand and that hasn’t changed."

Riley’s Sooners lost their first game of the 2021 season over the weekend at Baylor. Still, a Big 12 title isn’t out of reach for Oklahoma.
We’ll see where the Sooners land in the Playoff rankings that will be released on Tuesday night. Even if a CFP berth is out of reach for Oklahoma, Riley still has plenty to coach for.
