LSU gained Austin Ausberry and lost Jalen Brown by way of the transfer portal on Tuesday.

Ausberry is coming back to Baton Rouge to play for his hometown team after playing at Auburn the last 2 seasons. He played in 7 games for the Tigers from 2022-2023.

The former Auburn safety attended University Lab in Baton Rouge as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class. Ausberry had SEC offers from LSU, Alabama, Florida, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee.

On the flip side, Brown is planning to hop in the portal after 1 season with LSU. He played in the wins over Missouri, Army, and Georgia State. Brown was a former 4-star recruit prospect in the 2023 class out of Miami (Fla.) Gulliver Prep. He has 4 years of eligibility left.

The Bayou Bengals won 10 games for the 2nd consecutive season after beating Wisconsin in the ReliaQuest Bowl 35-31. This was done without Jayden Daniels, as the Heisman Trophy winner opted out to prepare for the 2024 NFL Draft.
