LSU basketball has returned and the Tigers closed out the first half vs. Kansas City in awesome fashion. LSU guard Justice Hill banked in a deep 3-pointer to put LSU ahead of Kansas City 41-34.

The Tigers went on to win an uncomfortably close one, 74-63.

The 6-foot, 175-pound senior is a veteran presence for the Tigers this season. The Little Rock, AR native is coming off a season in which he averaged 13.4 points, 5.1 assists, and 1.1 steals.

LSU went 22-12 overall and 9-9 in SEC play last season. LSU lost in the first round of the NCAA Tournament to No. 11 seed Iowa State. LSU fired head coach Will Wade prior to the NCAA Tournament after he was determined to have committed significant NCAA violations.

LSU’s new head coach is Matt McMahon, who arrives from Murray State. The 44-year-old McMahon was Murray State’s coach from 2015-22 and he amassed a 154-67 record with the program. McMahon earned OVC Coach of the Year last season after guiding Murray State to a 31-3 overall record, 18-0 mark in conference play, and trip to the Round of 32.
