LSU added a major prospect to its 2025 recruiting class on Tuesday afternoon.
The Tigers picked up a commitment from 3-star tight end JD LaFleur. He is the son of former LSU and All-America tight end David LaFleur.

LaFleur is a huge pickup for the Tigers. He is the No. 339 overall player and the No. 15 tight end in his class, per 247Sports Composite rankings. He’s also the No. 13 player from the state of Louisiana.
He attends Sulphur High School in Sulphur, Louisiana. He’s listed at 6-foot-6, 220 pounds.
His father, David, was a 1st round pick by the Dallas Cowboys in the 1997 NFL Draft. In his final season at LSU in ’96, he caught 30 passes for 439 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was a 4-year contributor over the course of his career with the Tigers.
LSU is now up to 3 commits in the class of 2025. LaFleur is LSU’s top-ranked commit so far in this cycle.
