LSU defensive back pledge Jaylen Bell backed off his commitment on Friday.

A 5-foot-11 corner from Loganville (Ga.) Grayson out of the 2025 class, Bell committed to the Tigers back in November of 2022. In a social media post on Friday morning, he said he is reopening his recruitment after “careful consideration, prayer, and a talk with my family.”

Bell also holds offers from Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Ole Miss, South Carolina, and Texas A&M out of the SEC. Colorado, Florida State, Louisville, Miami, and Pitt are other Power Five schools that have been involved in his recruitment.

In 33 varsity games so far, Bell has 104 total tackles, 19 pass breakups, four interceptions, and a forced fumble. He also competes in track and field for Grayson.

He’s a 3-star recruit in the industry-generated 247 Composite, and ranked as the No. 40 cornerback in the class. Overall, Bell is the No. 383 recruit in the country for the 2025 cycle.

LSU now holds nine known commits in the 2025 class. Last Saturday, the Tigers landed a pledge from 4-star New Iberia cornerback Jaboree Antoine.
