LSU RB ruled out for season opener vs. Florida State
One LSU RB has landed on the gameday injury report for the season opener against Florida State.
Armoni Goodwin, a player with 5 touchdowns a season ago, was ruled out by the program ahead of kickoff. Fortunately for the Tigers, Goodwin was the lone player ruled out during the gameday report.

Last season, Goodwin was 5th on the Tigers with 267 rushing yards and 5 rushing touchdowns. He averaged 5.9 yards per carry in 7 games for LSU.
The Tigers did not include Goodwin on the Week 1 depth chart, but they still should be well-positioned in the backfield for the season opener. Noah Cain and Josh Williams — the top running back options from a season ago — are back for 2023 and are listed as “OR” to be the Week 1 starter.
Logan Diggs, a transfer from Notre Dame with 822 yards in 2022, and 4-star freshman Kaleb Jackson are the other RBs available on the depth chart.
The Week 1 rematch against Florida State is set for 7:30 pm ET on ABC.
