LSU is taking steps to sever ties with former running back Derrius Guice. ESPN’s Heather Dinich reports that LSU “is in the process of” banning Guice indefinitely from the athletics program. Dinich adds that Guice’s statistics will also be removed from the school record book.

Per Dinich, the decisions are in response to the Husch Blackwell report. The investigation documented multiple athletic-related cases of sexual misconduct and abuse.

Guice has been accused by two women of sexual assault when he was a freshman in 2016. A third woman, also an LSU student at the time, alleged in 2016 that Guice had taken a partially nude photo of her without her knowledge and showed the pictures to his teammates.

In 2020, police investigated Guice for three domestic violence incidents. He was cut by Washington after his Aug. 7, 2020, arrest.

Guice played at LSU for three seasons 2015-17 before declaring early for the NFL Draft. He rushed for over 1,000 yards in back-to-back seasons (2016-1,387; 2017-1,251). In 2016, Guice rushed for 252 yards against Arkansas and a record-breaking 285 yards against Texas A&M, making him only the fourth running back in SEC history to record multiple 250-yard performances, joining Bo Jackson, Herschel Walker, and Moe Williams

He was selected by Washington in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft with the No. 59 overall pick.
