LSU reportedly lands key transfer offensive lineman from Maryland
LSU has been looking to beef up its offensive line depth all offseason, and it looks to have done so on Tuesday afternoon.
Mason Lunsford, a guard who played at Maryland in 2022, is reportedly heading to Baton Rouge to join the Tigers ahead of the 2023 campaign.
Brody Miller of The Athletic confirmed the addition of the former 3-star recruit from the 2019 recruiting class out of Olney, Maryland:
#LSU has landed Maryland transfer offensive lineman Mason Lunsford, a source confirmed to @TheAthletic.
Played mainly guard at Maryland. Adds depth at interior line that LSU has clearly been looking for all offseason. @whalexander_ had it first.

Lunsford played primarily along the interior offensive line at guard for the Terrapins during his career, and he figures to be in the mix there as well at LSU.
What this means for LSU
The Tigers lost Anthony Bradford from a guard position to the 2023 NFL Draft. Lunsford has the experience necessary to compete for that vacancy right away.
And, with the timing of this reported move, Lunsford will be able to get on the field for LSU during spring practices to try to learn the system ahead of fall camp.

LSU reportedly lands key transfer…
What is a “KEY”, is that somewhere between “talented” and “elite”?
I think it’s the writer just showing his “range”.
touche
Probably abetter than “elite”. They usually apply “elite” to 3-star high school recruits. This guy has college experience.
